Initially during testing on 6 workstations (3 Windows XP SP3, the Server 2008R2 VM, and 2 Windows 7 圆4) performance was great, but the day system went into product all but 2 clients and the server began having latency issues. To accomplish this I used a recommendation I found on Vmware's community page that said to power off the VM then modify the vmx file's physical address. As a result I tried to use the mac address from the server I used for testing, on the production server. The Application software we're using (EMC Application Xtender) requires the license file to be locked to a specific mac address.
We have a Vmware ESXi 4.1 environment and recently I transferred a Sql 2005 (SP2) database to a new Windows Server 2008R2 server VM running Sql Server 2008 (SP2).
